What a ridiculously insane weekend. Anyone who stayed off George Street and checked Yung Dumb, Feng Shui (Sh’ween), or even the afterhours party at Liquid, seemed to have no regrets about their decision. All the DJs absolutely murdered, nothing but packed dance floors, a whole lot of booze, hilarious/and or sexy costumes, and real late nights/early mornings. I think it’s safe to say that I’m STILL physically paying for it today. With all that said, I’m managing to recall some of the fidget, tech, and filter funk I dropped throughout my drunken stupor. If you’re here in St. John’s, and you didn’t make it out, here’s a small taste of what you missed.
HiJack and Jeff Doubleu make a pretty killer team. A somewhat subtle groove that somehow still manages to come off as a banger, with a whole lot of addictive fidgety vocal chops, and a massive drop.

A friend of mine who goes by the alias of “PotemTole” actually put me on to this track. I opened with this gem during my set at Yung Dumb. Not too abrasive, but undoubtedly gets you moving. I’m a huge Toro Y Moi fan, and Fare Soldi manages to turn this chill wave song into an upbeat feel good Nu Disco jam.
