Hey everyone, it’s been a while. Turns out these days we’ve been sharing tracks via the dance floor, and not so much through the website as of late. We’re still going to try and post regularly enough to keep all your ears feeling great, and there has been no shortage of bangin’ techno and groovy house this winter season. To end the hiatus, I’m going to do a mass post that shows some love to a handful of record labels that I’m really digging at the moment.
I think it’s only right I start off this post with some new freshness from my favourite label. It’s no mystery that fellow cat loving music makers Suara were absolutely smashing shit all last year with an onslaught of epic releases. They’ve been kicking off 2013 with a boatload of heat for these cold winter months, and these are my favourite kitties from this year thus far.
On to the next one. I’d like to take another moment to highlight another preferred record label of mine. Washington and Amsterdam collaborative imprint Witty Tunes supplied me with a ton of juicy bottom heavy deepness during 2012. If you have the right sound system, or headphones that don’t suck, these jams will be sounding real proper.
We’ve always had good things to say about the 12-3 Recordings roster, a Swedish-based label that you should most definitely familiarize yourself with. Ruben has always been so kind as to send us over a sneak peak of the killer material they’ve been releasing, and we’ve been loyal followers since this site went live. You can always expect a raw organic house sound from these folks.
You know what I love so much about Robsoul Recordings? They never fail to release the funkiest jackin’ house grooves. Whether it be a soulful classic throwback style house cut, or a jack-your-body urban tech house banger, this guys always come through with that REAL house music vibe.
Most of our followers know we’ve been a fan of fellow Canadian house music duo Prince Club for quite some time. Forrest is a very interesting and innovative side project started by Zach of Prince Club, and through Forrest, he also began Montreal/London based boutique imprint called Amadeus Records. Each release has been beautifully atmospheric, evoking feelings of nostalgia, all while supplying a need to just simply dance and groove. Unfortunately, these are all promo mixes, so go cop the tunes on Beatport!
Of course, I could keep going, but I think that’s enough music to keep you going for a little while. There are tons of labels that I’d love to show love to, but for now you can simmer on these goodies. Expect another label love post soon enough!
