Amadeus Records, the fantastic Canadian imprint that is very quickly making a name for itself is back with it fifth release. Following up some already stellar releases from the likes of Forrest and Chaos in the CBD, Steve Huerta’s ‘Take me Closer EP’ is an amazing addition to their catalogue. Featuring four solid tracks that wander nicely through a variety of deeper and darker house sounds this EP is a must have.
The opener and title track ‘Take Me Closer’ is a house music gem. A groovy, melodic, and deep percussion driven track with a nice sexy layer of vocals to top it all off. The kind of track that is perfect for warming up the dance floor and getting people moving, or winding things down at the end of one of those typical hot summer nights. ‘Real (Like This)’ errs on the darker side of things with a more relaxed, laid back feel featuring a nice touch of old(er) school flair. The third track ‘So Alone’ is another dope and dark track. The bass line kills, really taking control of the songs energy and driving it, complimented only by some more haunting melodies, vocals and an overall ambiance that really completes the tune. Finally Exploited upcomer Urulu completes the release with his remix of ‘Take Me Closer’, if you’ve checked out the preview of his upcoming release we featured you know his tracks are dope and this is no exception, delivering a more pumping dance floor ready take on the track.
