Keeping with tradition German imprint Steyoyoke has another big release on their hands, an impressive solo effort from Antonio Olivieri. His Rudiments EP offers up three extremely groovy and upbeat deep house gems. The title track opens things up with a confident vocal sample, bouncy melody, and overall uplifting energy. Tiny Nut the second track is tight, blending together a whole lot of elements I really enjoy. A smooth and easy melody, deep crunchy bass, and driving percussion definitely make this a highlight of the EP. Finally he closes things with Minna, easily the most hypnotic of the three tracks. Wavy, repetitive synths kick things off leaving you entranced as the crunchy bass line comes in only to be complimented by an absolutely dreamy melody. Pick this one up on vinyl (which is out now in a limited release) or grab it when it drops digitally on October 28th.
And with an amazingly mixed 9th instalment of their podcast is Sasch, whose Back & Forth EP released earlier this year via Steyoyoke was nothing short of impressive along with an earlier contribution to their podcast series.
