who are your favourite Canadian producers?

What’s up, everyone?
I checked out the Scientists of Sound twice this weekend, and they put off a great show both nights despite the sparse number of attendees at both events. These guys have become one of my favourite acts to watch live in St. John’s lately. I’ve found that all the hyped up shows amount to nothing more than hype recently and I find that our little electronic music scene often opts for hype at the cost of musical brilliance. Increasingly my preferred sounds are being manufactured in Europe and these artists would obviously cost more to book because of heightened travel expenses… This led me to think, who are my favourite Canadian producers? And, to our readers in St. John’s and even else where, who are your favourite Canadian producers? Who would you like to see in St. John’s?
Here’s my short list:
Art Department- Toronto
Art Department and Seth Troxler- Living the Life

Art Department- All Mine

James Teej/My Favourite Robot- Toronto/Montreal
Alex Kaddour & Isaac Silva- Luxemburgo (James Teej Remix)

My Favourite Robot- Forest Fires

Jacques Greene- Montreal

Jacques Greene- Another Girl

Mix Chopin- Toronto
Junior Jack- Thrill Me (Mix Chopin Remix)

Azari & III- Into the Night (Prince Language Remix)

and although the Scientists of Sound aren’t musch like the rest of this music they did get me thinking about this whole Canadian thing… So here’s some free music from them… WAV files at that!
